Experience Life In 18th Century Ireland During The Famine
The Kerry Bog Village Museum gives people an insight into how people lived and worked in Ireland in the 18th Century. The village is the only one of its kind in Europe and is a heritage award winner. It was well researched prior to being recreated. Great care was taken to ensure the dwellings that visitors see before them, are exact replicas of those used in Ireland in the early 1800’s. Old sites were visited, old ruins measured, and old documents consulted. At the village you will also see the once almost extinct Kerry Bog Ponies and Irelands most historical dogs The Irish Wolf Hounds. Afterwards enjoy a world famous Irish coffee or a bite to eat at the adjacent Red Fox Inn bar and restaurant.
